Polyurethane (PU) Rod
Bonaprene Products manufacture and stock a range of polyurethane (PU) rod from ½” 12.8mm Ø diameter to 71mm in red Bonathane 4NA90A polyurethane 90/95 Shore A hardness.
These polyurethane rods are widely used to make urethane strippers in the tool and die and metal stamping industries. These polyurethane (PU) strippers work in conjunction with standard and special piercing punches, die buttons, and die components.
The polyurethane offers a range of advantages
- If fractured polyurethane does not pose the hazard to operators or tooling of steel springs.
- Polyurethane strippers are easy to install and replace
- Polyurethane strippers prevent scratching of painted, galvanised or soft metal surfaces.
- Polyurethane strippers are effective to around 80ºC.
- Polyurethane strippers dampen vibration, are resistant to oil and grease and are non magnetic.
As well as for use as polyurethane strippers Bonathane 4NA90A machinability make these rods an ideal material for making all sort of parts. If larger or smaller parts are required Bonaprene can quote against specific enquiries. Bonaprene’s large stock of tooling usually means customers’ requirements can be quickly and competitively met.

Polyurethane (PU) Tube
aprene Products produce an ever-expanding range of polyurethane (PU) tube.
The polyurethane is cast into steel tooling usually 300mm or 12” long. Bonaprene can cut the polyurethane tube to customer’s specified lengths to make parts such as washers, bushes, seals, insulators, wheels and rollers.
Bonaprene can make tubes to customer specification utilising the company’s in-house tool making facility.
Polyurethane tubes cast at over 90A hardness can be machined to change the dimensions and add features such as grooves, lips and under cuts. Bonaprene can also offer, though minimum quantities apply, polyurethane (PU) hardness of 60D, Bonathane 1FA60D, (about that of polyethylene) and 75D, Bonathane 1FA75D, (about that of Nylon 6) that retain the elastomeric properties over polyurethane’s equivalent engineering plastics. This means these Bonathane polyurethanes will deflect from load helping to give greater wear resistance and longer working life. It can also be considered that if the enviroment is hot (up to 80 or 90°C) that harder polyurethanes can be used that will then soften to give elastomeric properties at the working environment.
Hardness from 35A to 95A and colours of green, blue, black, orange, yellow, red & white available on minimum order quantities. Cast lengths can be parted off - ask for details.
