Products > Polyurethane Cyclones
Bonaprene Products are manufacturers of polyurethane, PU,
hydrocyclones in a wide range of sizes and forms for a diverse number of
applications.
Wherever there is a requirement in an industry to separate out heavier elements
from a pressurised liquid mix Bonaprene’s Bonathane polyurethane hydrocyclones
can often be found. Applications
include:
- In pulp and paper mills to remove sand, staples, plastic particles and other contaminants.
- In the drilling industry to separate sand from the expensive clay that is used for lubrication during the drilling.
- In industry to separate oil from water.
- In metal working to separate metal particles from cooling liquid.
- In potato processing plants to recover starch from waste water.
- In mineral processing hydrocyclones are used extensively both to classify particles for recirculation in grinding circuts and to differentiate between the mineral gangue
Bonaprene manufacture hydrocyclones using the Bonathane 1FA range of high hardness, high load bearing polyurethane, PU. Bonathane 1FA grades are used where high hardness is required as the range goes from 80 Shore A up to 60 Shore D with 75 Shore D available as a special request. Bonathane 1FA is used to make hydro cyclones where hydrolysis and heat resistance is required as well as abrasion resistance.

Bonaprene’s also use Bonathane 5NA range of hydrolysis and
temperature resistant grades to make hydrocyclones where conditions exceed
those of the Bonathane 1FA range of polyurethane. Bonathane 5NA use
sophisticated polyol resins blended with a range of curatives to match
requirements. Hardness’s from 75 Shore A to 70 Shore D are available. Typical
environments for these polyurethanes are rollers operating in hot inorganic
acid vapours to high temperature hydro cyclones operations.

Bonaprene combine the manufacture of the polyurethane, PU, hydro cyclones with other processes and services to provide the customer with the one stop shop.

Bonaprene’s comprehensive machine shop allows not only the
finishing off of the polyurethane hydro cyclone but also the design and
manufacture of the tools and moulds.
Bonaprene can source metal fixings, seals and inserts that can be moulded into the polyurethane hydro cyclone or included in the assembly of the heads, cones and outlets.

Bonaprene offer high wear silicon carbide inserts bonded
into the polyurethane lower cones of the hydro cyclone to provide extreme
levels of wear resistance.
Bonaprene manufacture clear polyurethane, PU, in a high Bonathane hardness for use as sight glasses with in the hydro cyclone assembly.
Bonaprene manufacture in lower grade, and so cheaper, polyurethane, PU, shells to encapsulate the cones of the hydro cyclone. This type of hydrocyclone assembly offers the plant operator the ability to identify burst assemblies; to seal the burst using the supplied plug into the shell aperture; to mark the hydro cyclone assembly as needing repair or replacement but to allow this work to be delayed until the next planned maintenance
